One Hundred And Two

It was about 90 something today, with heat index near a hundred. Feels just crazy hot. Back in the 1990s, the day I made this oil painting it was 102 degrees. We were suffering a long hot drought, everyone and everything was parched and dry. And hot.
There came in the sky this beautiful cloud, so I put it in the painting. It turned out to be the very cloud that broke the drought. Just opened up and poured on me as I painted. It's an oil painting on prepared Masonite, so no harm done. In fact, it was super refreshing.
Anyway, I call the painting "One Hundred And Two" in memory of just how hot it was out in the field that day.
